How to play Chess

1. Tap a piece, then a highlighted square. White moves first. A move may not leave your king in check.
2. Castling, en passant, checkmate, stalemate, and all four pawn promotions are supported.
3. This casual variant automatically draws on threefold repetition, the fifty-move rule, and insufficient material. Games have no clock.
4. Play the computer at three levels or share the device. Undo returns to your previous decision against the computer.

Play your way

Choose computer opponents or pass and play with friends on the same device. Progress is saved locally in your browser. You can resume games, start again, and read the rules while playing.

Can I play offline?

Yes. Open the game collection while connected first so it can save its offline files. Continue in the same browser and device. Clearing browser storage removes local saves. The rules page is also available in the offline cache.
